Nine characters, nine squads

Meet the crew

Dippy and the eight characters around him. Each one is a squad. Pick the one you want to play as.

The crew

  • Dippy, an orange sauce cup in black shades, arms crossed, in an orange surcoat with a green chevron over blackened mail.

    Dippy

Leads the crew. Walks toward the red candles.

HouseThe KitchenSworn to every House, owned by none.

Dippy climbed out of the reddest candle on Solana and has never said what lay at the bottom. Every new Dipper's first tally is cut by his own gloved hands, and no name is ever forgotten. When the towers run red, he walks toward them, which the chroniclers call courage and BBQ calls a habit.

  • Honey Mustard, the Queen, in a small gold crown and pearls, one gloved hand at her shades, a gold mantle on her shoulders.

    Honey Mustard

The Queen. Everyone answers to her.

    HouseHoney Mustard

She walked in wearing a crown that no goldsmith in Tallowmere will claim. Sweet to petitioners and final to traitors, she ordered the sealed page left on the bench where every Dipper can see it. Everyone answers to the Queen.

  • Ser Ranch in a white tabard edged in green, a kite shield on his back and frost in his black hair.

    Ser Ranch

Guards the door. Cool head, first one in.

    HouseRanch

First down the stair, Ranch took the seat by the door and has never raised his voice since. He went down into the deep Trenches after a friend who had joined the Paper Hands, and came back with frost in his hair that has not melted. He will not say what he heard breathing below.

  • BBQ in a wide black hat and a studded brigandine, a heavy chain of office on his chest, woodsmoke curling behind him.

    BBQ

The Smoke Knight. Holds through every winter.

    HouseSmoke

A hedge knight out of the smokehouses of the lower town, BBQ held through three winters without selling a single Tender and carries the realm's only palm-wide Dip Receipt. He speaks rarely, smokes everything and forgets nothing. Ask about the three winters and he will answer; ask about the fourth and the hat comes down over the shades.

  • Sweet Chili in purple lenses and a red herald's tabard, a brass horn hanging at his hip.

    Sweet Chili

Sounds the horn. First into every raid.

    HouseChili

Sweet Chili hears a raid before the drums do and is halfway up the wall when the horn sounds. First through every breach, last off the field. The Kitchen has an old word for leaving the field, log off, and it is never said kindly.

  • Buffalo in a long black money-changer's robe and a red stole, iron keys and brass jetons at his belt.

    Buffalo

Reads the prices. Keeps the coin.

    HouseBuffalo, called the Changers

Buffalo reads the chequered cloth each dawn the way monks keep the hours, and has not misread a candle in a long time. He wears black because ink does not show on it. Lately he keeps a thumb pressed to the north corner of the cloth, where frost is reaching candles he has not drawn yet.

  • Professor Drip in goggles and a sauce-spattered alchemist's robe, glowing vials across his chest, lit from below.

    Professor Drip

The alchemist. Brews the next chapter.

    HouseFloor ZeroAnswers to no House.

    No marks cut.

His alchemy licence is the only one in Tallowmere never revoked, mostly because no clerk of the Crown will go down to Floor Zero to revoke it. He turns red candles, wild theories and orange serum into the next chapter, and the basin shows him tomorrow's city a day early. His notes have turned dark this season.

  • The Watcher in a cream mantle, a green-lined hood half raised, round gold frames catching the light, snow on the shoulders.

    The Watcher

    Says nothing. Sees everything.

    Name sealed.

    HouseThe Unsworn

Came down the north road ahead of the snow and took one of the Queen's empty places. Says nothing and sees everything, and found the hollow tally that had fooled the whole Bourse. Was seen once at the Pit's boarded gate after curfew, listening.

  • The Scribe in a brown clerk's robe, a black-bound book held in one arm, frost on the hem.

    The Scribe

Reads at every table. Writes it all down.

    Name sealed.

    HouseThe Unsworn

Came down the north road with the Watcher, carrying Sauce Strategy: Building Something Sweet, though the Kitchen's copy has never left the bench. Reads at every table and has never been seen to turn a page. Asked what lies to the north, gave one word. Weather.

Help build Dippy

Every call goes out on @DiponSol_ first. Four ways to join in:

  • Raids

When a raid is called, reply, repost and quote it in your own words. No bots, no copy and paste.

  • Story ideas

Lore calls ask what happens next: names, rumours, small stories. Answer in the replies.

  • Art

Art calls ask for drawings of the crew and the city. Reply to the call, or tag @DiponSol_.

  • Welcome newcomers

Point new people to @DiponSol_ for the real links, and report fake accounts.

How builders are rewarded

Raids, content, lore, moderation. Team rewards are kept separate from game farming and will scale as the treasury can actually support them.

work → team rewards

We never DM first. Nobody from the team will ask for your wallet or ask you to pay to join.
